Objectives
This second GSISH symposium is on an invitation-only basis. Its objectives are as follows:
a) to further develop and fine-tune the GSISH research program through dialogue with leading international experts
b) to establish the network between supervisors, international faculty and PhD students
For a) the participants are invited to give a brief presentation of the current trends in their fields, relevant upcoming research projects and their personal opinion of how the GSISH areas should be interlinked in the future. GSISH PhD students will also present their current work along with their research goals in the project groups that have already been set up.
For b) there will be breakout sessions which will offer ample time for discussion, between scientists and PhD students. The research goals of the individual project groups can be discussed and refined in depth, and the next steps (visits, PhD student exchanges, joint publications, etc.) of the individual project can be explored.
This will be the perfect opportunity for GSISH students to discuss and "brain-storm" with leading international researchers and open the door for innovative ideas and projects, the result of which will be mutually beneficial to both parties.
Moreover, our international faculty will get a hands-on impression of both the high quality of our PhD students as well as the superb research institutions and the cooperation potential in Munich.
